I would appreciate any information of the rescue of 3 airmen from a ditched RCAF Hampden bomber by the whaler "Polar Bjorn" . The info. I have is limited except that the 3 airmen paddled their dinghy from just south of Cape Farewell to one of the islands of this cape. After 3 days the Polar Bjorn came by on patrol for the US Greenland forces and saw the flare of the stranded airmen. Is there any crew from the Polar Bjorn still alive or any log books of this whaler kept in Greenland, Norway, or Denmark? I would like more details if possible. Thanks in advance. Karl Kj.
